Compliance & LegitScript · from $750 one time

Peptide compliance, and LegitScript where it fits.

LegitScript certifies pharmacies, telehealth providers and clinics. It does not offer a program for research-use-only suppliers. For research suppliers we review the whole store and remove what regulators and processors read as signs of human use. For clinics and telehealth brands that qualify, we prepare the LegitScript application.

Who LegitScript certifies

LegitScript's Healthcare Certification is built for pharmacies, telehealth platforms, clinics and med spas, digital health platforms, and pharmaceutical manufacturers and wholesalers. None of its current programs is aimed at research-use-only peptide sellers. Its 2025 peptides guide for payment processors treats those stores as a risk to screen, and lists a "not for human consumption" disclaimer, lab-style branding and no buyer qualification among its red flags.

So if you sell research peptides, we will not sell you a LegitScript application. We will tell you that in the first call.

Why a research-use-only disclaimer is not enough

Between December 2025 and August 2026, FDA sent warning letters to peptide and SARM sellers whose labels said "research use only" or "not for human consumption". In each case FDA judged intended use from the whole picture: website copy, dosing guidance, reconstitution calculators, "peptide guides", and bacteriostatic water sold alongside. Several of the August 2026 letters were based on a review of the website alone.

The disclaimer still belongs on your labels and pages. It just cannot carry the weight on its own. What the rest of your store says matters more.

What we do for research suppliers

  • Whole-store review. Product, category, blog, FAQ and email content, plus social profiles, checked for dosing, benefit and human-use language.
  • Signal removal. Calculators, dosing tables, protocol guides and injection supplies sold alongside are taken out or rewritten.
  • Buyer qualification. A research account or qualification step before purchase, which LegitScript's processor guide expects of legitimate sellers.
  • Evidence and policies. A COA for every batch, accurate business details and policies that match how you operate.
  • A findings report you can share with your acquirer and your lawyer.

This lowers your risk with processors, platforms and regulators. It does not make any product legal to sell, and it is not legal advice. We recommend a regulatory lawyer for what you sell, and we are glad to work alongside yours.

LegitScript certification for clinics and telehealth

If you are a licensed pharmacy, a telehealth provider or a clinic, acquirers often require Healthcare Certification, and Google and Meta require it before you can advertise in the category. We check eligibility first, fix the site and prepare the application. LegitScript reviews licensure, every domain you control, affiliates and partners, products, promotions, SOPs such as batch testing, and the history of the people who run the business.

Product choice decides a lot. As of September 2026, LegitScript states that peptides such as BPC-157, TB-500 and retatrutide are not eligible for compounding, sale or use, so offering them, or partnering with someone who does, fails certification.

FAQ

Compliance & LegitScript questions

Can a research peptide store get LegitScript certified?

None of LegitScript's current programs is aimed at research-use-only sellers, and its guide for payment processors treats them as a risk to screen. We tell you plainly if you do not qualify instead of charging for an application.

Does a research-use-only disclaimer protect my store?

Not on its own. FDA has found products intended for human use despite research-use-only and not-for-human-consumption labels, based on website content, dosing guidance and products sold alongside. Removing those signals matters more than the disclaimer.

How much does LegitScript certification cost?

As of October 2026, $975 to apply plus $2,150 a year per domain for standard Healthcare Certification, or $3,995 a year on probation. Our fee is separate and published on our pricing page.

How long does LegitScript certification take?

LegitScript does not give a timeline. Screening takes about two business days, then the review runs as long as its questions take to answer.

Is this legal advice?

No. We are a marketing and technology agency. Work with a regulatory lawyer on what you sell. We are glad to work alongside yours.
