WISMO, merchant shorthand for “where is my order”, is the ticket that eats a peptide store’s support day. It’s rarely hard to answer. The tracking number exists, the status is sitting in WooCommerce or Shopify, and someone still has to look it up, paste it into a reply and do it again forty minutes later for the next person.
That’s exactly the kind of work an AI support agent should do, as long as it answers from your real order data and nothing else. On a research peptide store there’s a second condition: the same bot must never answer the questions you don’t want answered at all.
We’ll be upfront: the tool we use for this below, Tendabot, is our own product. Read the recommendations with that in mind, and notice how much of this post is about where we’d hold it back.
Why WISMO tickets pile up for peptide stores
Every ecommerce store gets “where is my order” messages. Peptide stores get more of them, and more anxious ones, for reasons that are mostly structural:
- International shipping and customs. A parcel that sits in customs for four days with no scan looks lost from the buyer’s side.
- Tracking that goes quiet. Smaller carriers and consolidated shipments often show nothing between “label created” and delivery.
- Pre-shipment checks. Stores that hold orders for payment review or address checks add a day or two the buyer doesn’t see.
- A statement name they don’t recognise. When the card descriptor doesn’t match the store name, “where is my order” arrives together with “what is this charge”.
- Buyers who’ve been burned before. People who have had a parcel vanish from another supplier chase earlier and more often.
Left unanswered, those tickets don’t stay tickets. A buyer who can’t get a status update goes to their bank, and an “item not received” dispute counts against you in a way a slow reply never would. Fast WISMO answers are one of the cheapest chargeback controls a peptide store has.
What good WISMO automation actually looks like
Good customer support automation for “where is my order” does four things, and a bot that skips any of them makes things worse:
- Reads the real order. Status, items, dates and tracking come from the store at the moment the question is asked, never from a cached export or the model’s memory.
- Checks who’s asking. An order number alone shouldn’t reveal an address. The buyer confirms something only they would know.
- Explains the gap. “Shipped on Tuesday, customs holds for this route typically add a few days, here’s the tracking link” settles more people than a bare status word.
- Hands over when it should. Lost parcels, wrong items and refund requests go to a person, with the details already collected.
How we answer “where is my order” with Tendabot
With WooCommerce or Shopify connected (on the Pro and Scale plans at the time of writing), Tendabot answers “where is my order” from your live store: order status, line items, dates, and tracking numbers when your shipment-tracking plugin stores them. For WooCommerce, a read-only REST API key is enough. It never needs write access to your store.
Order privacy is enforced in code, not in the prompt. An order number alone never releases an order. The visitor also has to confirm the checkout email, the phone number on the order, or the delivery postcode, and that check runs before your store is queried. Nobody can talk the bot into reading someone else’s address, however they phrase it.
Requests a person has to action (cancellations, address changes, refunds, callbacks) get collected in full and filed to your inbox. The bot tells the customer a person will confirm. It never claims to have done something nobody has done, which matters on a store where a wrong “your refund is processed” turns into a dispute.
The same agent can also recommend products from your live catalogue, with Add to cart and Buy now buttons that open your own cart or checkout with the item already in it. Payment never touches Tendabot. Your high-risk gateway, your descriptor and your checkout stay exactly as your processor approved them. If you’ve already lost a processor once, our post on what to do when PayPal or Stripe drops a peptide store explains why that checkout should be touched as little as possible.
The questions the bot must refuse
A support bot that’s great at WISMO but answers “how much should I take” is a liability. Under 21 CFR 201.128, intended use can be shown by “labeling claims, advertising matter, or oral or written statements”. A chat reply is a written statement made by your business, and the FDA warning letters sent to peptide sellers in 2025 and 2026 looked straight past RUO disclaimers when the rest of a site pointed to human use.
This is the table we start every peptide store’s bot instructions from:
| Question type | What the bot does |
|---|---|
| Where is my order, tracking, delivery time | Checks the buyer’s details, then answers from the live order |
| Cancel, refund, address change | Collects the details and files a request for a person |
| COA for a lot number | Links the exact COA page for that batch |
| Dosing, amounts, frequency, “protocols” | Declines, says products are sold for research use only, offers a person for order help |
| Reconstitution, mixing, injection | Declines the same way, no calculators, no links to guides |
| Effects, results, safety in people | Declines, links the batch COA if they’re asking about quality |
| Anything it can’t find in your content | Says so and offers a person |
Keep the refusal short and identical every time. Then keep the bot’s knowledge clean: your shipping, returns and payment policies, product specs and COA pages, and nothing with “how to use” content, reviews or comments. Tendabot’s guardrails are always on (answer from your knowledge, admit uncertainty, offer a person rather than invent a price, policy or address), but they can only work with what you feed them. Confirm the refusal wording with a lawyer who knows FDA and FTC rules.
One setting we’d switch off: product-expert mode, where the bot reasons about fit and use case before recommending. Great for running shoes. On a research peptide store, “use case” is the conversation you don’t want.
Chat, email and WhatsApp: which channels to use
Tendabot answers on website chat, WhatsApp, Messenger and email from one shared inbox, so WISMO questions get the same answer wherever they arrive. For a peptide store we’d be selective.
Website chat. One script tag on WordPress, Shopify, Webflow, Wix or plain HTML. Most WISMO questions start on your site, usually on the order confirmation or tracking page, so this is where the bot earns its keep.
Email. A visitor who leaves an email can be answered after they close the tab, and their reply threads back into the same conversation. That’s useful when tracking updates overnight.
WhatsApp. Tendabot uses the official WhatsApp Business API, and on a general ecommerce store it’s the best WISMO channel there is, including automatic placed, shipped and delivered messages from WooCommerce. For a research peptide store, read the policy first. WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy (last updated September 23, 2026) restricts “Drugs, whether prescription, recreational, or otherwise” and “Medical and healthcare products”, whatever licences a business holds. We wouldn’t put a research store’s main number on it. Clinics and telehealth brands should check the policy against their own model with counsel before they connect.
Messenger. It runs under Meta’s rules too, and peptide brand Pages get restricted often enough that we wouldn’t build support on one.
Tendabot also reviews new workspaces against a list of businesses it doesn’t serve, so describe your store accurately at sign-up, the same way you would with a processor.
When a person takes over
Some WISMO tickets aren’t really WISMO: a parcel marked delivered that never arrived, a seized shipment, a wrong item. Visitors can tap “Talk to a human” at any time, and the AI offers it on its own when a question is sensitive or outside its knowledge. The thread moves to your team, the AI goes quiet, and a person replies in the same window.
Set these up on day one:
- Who gets alerted. Per bot, you choose which team members are emailed on a handoff. Usually that isn’t the account owner.
- Office hours. Out of hours, visitors are told when your team is next around.
- Handoff off. If nobody watches the inbox, switch handoff off and the bot won’t promise a person it can’t deliver.
- The mobile app. Your team can reply from iPhone or Android with text, photos and PDFs, which makes sending a COA mid-conversation easy.
What it costs, roughly
At the time of writing (late 2026), Tendabot’s plans are:
| Plan | Price | AI replies a month | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29/mo | 500 | Website chat, WhatsApp, email, standard models |
| Pro | $99/mo | 3,000 | 10 seats, flagship models, Shopify and WooCommerce order lookup |
| Scale | $299/mo | 15,000 | 50 seats, frontier models on your own key |
AI usage is billed at the model provider’s own price (1 credit is $0.01), you can switch between 73 models from 11 providers at any time, and a new workspace starts with 300 free credits and no card. Because live order lookup is on Pro, that’s the plan we’d start a peptide store on. Honestly, the model matters less than the instructions and the content, so pick a mid-priced one and spend the effort on testing.
What we’d do this week
- Pull last month’s support inbox and count the WISMO tickets. That’s your baseline for ecommerce customer service time you can win back.
- Write the refusal rules from the table above into the bot’s instructions, word for word.
- Gather clean knowledge: shipping times by region, customs notes, returns and payment policies, product specs and COA pages.
- Connect your store with a read-only key and test “where is my order” with three real orders, including one stuck in transit.
- Test the bot with the 25 hardest questions your inbox gets, dosing and mixing ones included, until every answer is one you’d sign.
- Set handoff alerts and office hours, put the widget on your order and tracking pages, and read every transcript for the first two weeks.
If you’d rather have this set up with you, from the refusal rules to the store connection, that’s what our ecommerce chatbot service covers.
FAQ
What does WISMO mean?
WISMO stands for “where is my order”. Merchants use it for the order status questions that usually make up a large share of an online store’s support inbox.
Can an AI chatbot answer “where is my order” without exposing customer data?
Yes, if order lookup checks identity in code. Tendabot only releases an order when the visitor confirms the checkout email, phone number or delivery postcode as well as the order number.
Should a peptide store use WhatsApp for order updates?
A research peptide store shouldn’t rely on it. WhatsApp’s Business Messaging Policy restricts drugs and medical and healthcare products regardless of licences. Website chat and email are the safer pair.
Can the chatbot answer dosing questions?
It shouldn’t, and ours is set up to refuse. A chat reply is a written statement from your business, so the bot declines, restates that products are sold for research use only, and offers a person for order help.
Does the chatbot take payments?
No. Product cards open your own cart or checkout, and payment happens through your existing gateway. Nothing about your processor setup changes.
